Impact assessments Impact assessments are an important tool in planning activities that can affect nature, the environment and society. We deliver impact assessments that assess the environmental consequences of business establishment and public projects in marine and freshwater systems. We offer strategic and measure-specific assessments for activities such as offshore wind, petroleum, mining, fisheries and aquaculture, based on the currently applicable manuals and regulations. We also describe measures to avoid, mitigate or compensate for any negative consequences (according to the measure hierarchy).
Environmental risk and emergency preparedness analyses The Akvaplan-niva group "Sensitive Environments Decision Support" (SensE) delivers a number of services within environmental risk and emergency preparedness for petroleum operations and offshore aquaculture in sensitive marine areas. SensE focuses on quality and competence in the implementation of analyses/work and collaborates closely with the client in the process, to ensure good involvement and preparation of high-quality analyses. The group is involved in the petroleum industry's? best Practice group for conducting environmental risk and emergency preparedness analyses and actively participates in the development of methods, tools and industry standards for this. Through broad expertise in the marine environment and ecosystems and experience from field work, the focus on the link between science and practical feasibility is central to the work on emergency plans and analyses. We also provide services related to environmental risk and oil spill response for exercises and training.
