Abstract

This dataset contains two-dimensional (2D; longitude–latitude) spatially interpolated biogeochemical data derived from the CMEMS Global Ocean Biogeochemistry Hindcast. The original data, provided on a regular 0.25° × 0.25° spatial grid, were regridded to a finer resolution of 0.08333° × 0.08333° using bilinear interpolation. This spatial harmonization was performed to match the grid resolution and geographical alignment of the Continuous Plankton Recorder (CPR) Survey zooplankton dataset provided for the Akvaplan-niva (APN) use case within the DIVE project. The resulting dataset enables direct spatial integration of biogeochemical variables with zooplankton observations, facilitating environmental data extraction, comparative analyses, and the investigation of relationships between oceanographic conditions and zooplankton distributions. Although the interpolation increases the spatial sampling density, it does not increase the intrinsic spatial resolution of the original CMEMS hindcast data. The spatial domain extends in 3D from 20W-29E, 65N-79E down to ca. 16 m (= 10 z-levels). Chlorophyll-a biomass is given in mg/m^3 Further details can be found in the embedded metadata in the netcdf file.
