Inspection and certification Inspection and certification of aquaculture facilities in Norway is required by law and strictly regulated to protect the environment and prevent escapes. All floating facilities in seas, lakes and waterways must have a valid facility certificate issued by an accredited inspection body, such as Akvaplan-niva. before they can be put into use. The certificate is the final proof that the entire floating facility – in the specific configuration and at the exact location where it is located – meets the requirements of the NYTEK23 regulation and the NS 9415 standard.
