Project

Reasons for rejection of applications for aquaculture sites

ÅRSAK

Project duration
November 2024 – March 2026

Main objective

Map causes for rejections of site applications, identify areas where there is a need for a better knowledge base and provide recommendations on topics for future R&D projects, in order to ensure more predictable and uniform management throughout the country.

Sub-objectives

  1. Categorize and systematize causes for rejections of site applications (Work Package 2).
  2. In-depth analysis of the knowledge base in cases where rejections are issued due to uncertainty, lack of knowledge and application of the precautionary principle (Work Package 3).
  3. Identify and prioritize R&D tasks to improve the knowledge base for use in the processing of applications for aquaculture sites (Work Package 4).
  4. Disseminate the project results to the aquaculture industry, relevant management authorities and other stakeholders (Work Package 5).
